Internship: Project manager support implementation team

IBF International Consulting is a European development consultancy founded in Brussels in 1977 that is working on co-operation projects financed by international institutions like the European Commission and the World Bank.

Our main fields of expertise are economic development, institutional support, education and social development. IBF has managed projects in more than 150 countries worldwide. IBF employs 40 permanent staff in Brussels and has about 250 experts in the field.

The Technical Cooperation Unit tenders and implements internationally funded development projects.

IBF is looking for an Intern for the Implementation Unit. Their main task is to support the Senior Project Managers on the Implementation of donor financed projects.

These are unpaid internships but the company will provide a sum of € 375 a month to cover expenses, as well as an opportunity for challenging work and an excellent introduction to the world of international development.

The internship is for duration of 6 months, to start as soon as possible.

Job description:

  • Analysis of project documentation including Terms of Reference
  • Expert search using our database and other sources
  • Evaluation of expert CV’s and recommendations of suitable profiles
  • Contact and communication with Experts
  • Preparation and formatting of Expert CV’s
  • Organise travels (book hotels and journeys)

Profile:

  • A higher education qualification, a scientific background will be an asset.
  • Flexibility to work long hours when needed
  • Positive and proactive mindset
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Knowledge on EU procedures desired
  • Having a knowledge on quality issues: standardisation, certification, accreditation, metrology would be plus
  • Working language: French - Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
