International Consulting Business Developer

IBF International Consulting is a European development consultancy founded in Brussels in 1977 that is working worldwide on consulting projects financed by international institutions like the European Commission and the World Bank.

IBF is active in the fields of economic, institutional, education and social development.

Job description:

    The person will be a permanent staff of IBF, based at its headquarters in Brussels covering the following tasks:
  • Identify good projects for IBF through an analysis of Assortis (www.assortis.com) and through own networking as ahead of publication as possible.
  • Set up appropriate consortia with partners and negotiate margin sharing.
  • Lead the tendering team for the identified projects , providing strategic guidance on the winning approach.
  • Establish qualitative relationships with beneficiaries, funding agencies and partners, and promote IBF on the market.
  • Frequent field visits.
  • Develop IBF’s networks of local partners and tools (MIS) to animate the networks.
  • Trouble shoot on running projects.

Profile:

  • Minimum 7 years experience in technical assistance with a proven track record of winning projects through the submission of high quality tenders.
  • Demonstrate appropriate mix of technical and lobbying skills.
  • Experience in setting up Management Information Systems (MIS).
  • Good interpersonal skills, including diplomacy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Fluency in English & French.
